Two, Three, four and five day courses are available, which course is right for me?

Dependant on your previous experience Brendan would usually recommend initially attending a 2 or 3-day course. Longer courses are generally more suited to those with more experience.

The longer the course is the more time to there is to learn, the more ambitious you can be and more time you’ll have to focus on quality control and to enjoy your exploration of what the clay can offer.

To get the most from a course make time to research your chosen subject before you arrive. This will be explained in your course schedule, downloadable as soon as your booking is confirmed.

Early booking really is essential

With limited numbers and 93% of students returning for further tuition – testament to Brendan’s ability to inspire and encourage students to produce strong work.

“Brendan asked  why I return year after year. I could come up a whole page of reasons but here are just a few:

Focus – whatever the length of the course chosen you get the chance to completely immerse yourself in working on your “masterpiece(s)”. Drinks and food appear on a regular basis to keep up your strength!

Progress – you will be supported and challenged in equal measure. Brendan’s demonstrations cover different techniques and ways of working to provide individual tuition and guidance, with an emphasis on keeping the freshness of the clay.

Flexibility – there’s no insistence on producing one refined piece – make several studies if you want, change your mind several times, have another go – as long as you are learning.

Environment – not just the physical surroundings of the amazing mill, nor the stunning local landscape but also the learning environment Brendan has created. Everything you need is there – research resources, tools, great quality clay, expert tuition all mixed up with a healthy dose of fun!

Actually, I’ll stop promoting the course now – if too many people sign up I might not get a place next year!”
